Back to School

Ok time to get the Russian-English dictionary out again and get back to memorizing verbs. I just got back from a two week vacation after the trip to Cherepovets. It was great to get away for a while. I feel like I've been able to gain some perspective on my time here. I really enjoyed helping out the team of 11 college students who came here. We helped a church in northern Russia put on a Youth camp and after that helped out with a ministry to the poor people of the city of Cherepovets. God not did a great work through the team, but it is really apparent that He is working in the church in Cherepovets to further bring glory to Himself in that city. It really reminded me of why I came here.

So what are my next steps, other than memorizing verbs. Well, I'm trying to find a college or student ministry that I can get involved with while I'm here. Haning out with the team really remined me how I really enjoy college students and I can see myself working with them more and perhaps helping to train leaders of student ministries in Russian Churches.

Prayer Requests

10.06.2009 Georgians: Pray for a Georgian family that is in fear of being deported. Pray that God would give them peace dispite there circumstances and pray that they would grow closer to God through this.

10.06.2009 Boldly share: That we would walk closely with Him each day and openly sharing Him with others in this culture

10.06.2009 Mentors: That God would send each of us a mentor to meet with regularly.

10.06.2009 Language Aquisition: That Liz would become conversational in German quickly and that we both might strive for excellence as in this area of our ministry.

09.07.2009 Visas Process: Pray that we would be able to get all of the paperwork for our visas and that we would be wise in getting things set up to stay here.
